What to expect at your appointment
Your provider reviews your symptoms, health history, medications, and previous treatments, then examines the areas relevant to your visit.
You will discuss the findings and whether treatment, testing, a procedure, or monitoring is appropriate. Some care requires another appointment. Your provider explains how to use prescribed treatment, what changes to watch for, and when to return.
Bring medication and skincare lists, relevant test results, and photos of a rash during a flare.

Is a skin cancer screening the same as a mole check?
A screening is a broader examination based on your history and risk. A mole check focuses on specific spots. Both use “Skin Check / Mole Check” in online booking. Tell us which type of examination you need.
Can a biopsy or removal happen at the first visit?
It depends on the findings and procedure needed. Your provider explains the recommendation and timing; some procedures need a separate appointment. If tissue is tested, the result helps determine further care.
Can I discuss more than one skin concern?
Mention your concerns when scheduling and tell your provider which matters most. The number and complexity of concerns determine what can be addressed and whether another appointment is needed.
When to seek urgent care
Call 911 for trouble breathing or swallowing, sudden swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, fainting, or severe bleeding that does not stop with firm pressure.
Seek emergency care for sudden vision loss or sudden blurred vision with a painful red eye. Other eye pain, marked redness, light sensitivity, or vision changes need urgent eye assessment.
Seek prompt medical care for a widespread, rapidly worsening, painful, blistering, or peeling rash; fever with a rash; a rash affecting the eyes, mouth, or genital skin; or signs of infection such as pus, warmth, or swelling. Cortina does not provide emergency care.
